Chemence Launches Unique Inkjet System in Europe

Chemence, a leading manufacturer of UV curing resins and photopolymers, is delighted to announce the launch of the Jetsetter product in the European market, following on from the success of its introduction to the US market.

The Jetsetter offers a chemical-free, environmentally friendly and low cost alternative to traditional film production, replacing an entire imagesetting workflow with a unique inkjet system designed for use in the production of flexo and photopolymer plates. Chemence has focussed its attention on every aspect of the process, with custom ink, film, software and hardware technologies, leveraging its expertise in high quality photopolymer production.

Contact Originators, leading packaging origination and graphics management specialists who recently won the prestigious EFIA Repro Company of the Year award, has taken delivery of the first two Jetsetters in Europe. The Jetsetters at Contact line up with several digital flexo plate systems, analogue solid and liquid flexo plate production lines and provide film negatives for high volume, large format production.

Utilising Epson print engines for their speed, quality and serviceability, Chemence had to overcome a traditional weakness inherent in all reel fed devices. As the flexo market grows into higher and higher quality applications, it was necessary to develop a unique registration system that ensures the very high-level accuracy of the printed image, particularly in the feed direction of the printer. It allows very large, multi-colour films to be pin-point registered from colour to colour.

Mathew Faulkner, Business Development Manager for Jetsetter in EMEA says: “There are many inkjet separation film products on the market but the Jetsetter is the only one that combines dedicated software with a matched ink and film combination together with clever registration capabilities, all specifically tailored for demanding photopolymer applications. The attention to detail that went into every aspect of the development, including the choice of ink technology, creates superior dot shapes and a very resilient printed image when compared with pigment inks. What differentiates Chemence from the competition is our ability to supply and support a complete package which significantly reduces risk of downtime in a manufacturing operation where maintaining productivity is essential.
